Last Tuesday 20 February marked the start of the 15th International Winter Road Congress, which will run until 23 February. It is hosted by the World Road Organisation PIARC and the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways.
The congress has been organised every four years since 1969. This year’s edition is being held in Gdańsk under the theme “Ensuring Safe and Sustainable Road Maintenance in Winter”.
The congress brings together more than 1,500 experts to discuss the technical, social and economic challenges related to keeping roads functioning properly in extreme weather conditions
The Lidex Translation Centre in Gdynia provides linguistic and technical support for the conference, as well as technical visits for the participants of this congress.
There are 10 simultaneous interpreting booths on site; some of the interpreters came to the event from France, while others are provided by the LIDEX Translation Centre’s Tricity Branch Office.
